Health condition when rescued: Extreme emaciation and dehydration; corneal opacity in both eyes, ear notches stemming from the use of bull-hooks, multiple persistent septic wounds due to the use of spiked hobbles. Thermal imaging of his hind and forelimbs has unveiled generalised swelling, chronic abscesses, and overgrown toenails on all four limbs. Overloading and improper saddling also caused severe damage to his spine.

Background: Having been separated from his family at a tender age, Rama was subjected to harsh conditions where he was used as a prop for entertainment for weddings.
